Trying to live happily
Mao Lan (Chang Chiu-Ying), female, born in 1970 in Beijing, died in 2004, a permanent volunteer of Beijing Zhiling Training Base. She was severely burnt up to 98% of whole body at 3 years-old, and abandoned by her parents due to unaffordable medical treatment expense; she survived successfully four blood poisonings with strong willpower.
Mao Lan looked after herself with a single foot, and even learnt repair by herself; like all other girls, she liked pop music, movies and arts; she also devoted herself to helping the mentally-retarded friends around-the-clock, and also shared with them her experience.
Despite of absence of educational background, parents and beautiful appearance, she promised to make contributions to this loving world. She cherished every opportunity for survival, and set up a civil society along with some like-minded individuals, which helped many people meet their pains and difficulties bravely. She believed that everyone could override the barrier with confidence for living in the living world.
