Overcoming paralysis and searching for hope
      Lu Ma-Li, female, born in 1984 in Fuhsing Township, Taoyuan County, graduated from Horticulture Department of Lung-Tan Agricultural Industrial Vocational High School. She was an aboriginal student of Taiwan Amis tribe and also a pious Christian. Her family’s living depended on his father by searching for odd jobs. He was once a good athlete with good performance in various athletic activities in school. He was also optimistic and took delight in helping others and participating in every public welfare activities of school and churches.
       At a traffic accident on December 27, 2000, Lu Ma-Li was seriously injured for her lung, liver, pancreas and vertebrate. After several operations, his lung, liver and pancreas almost recovered functionally, but she lost the capability of caring for herself. So, she had to sit on the wheelchair to keep on study.
      During the medical treatment process, Lu Ma-Li didn’t complain anything but fought with the King of Terrors time and again. She also faced the physical and psychological challenges with optimistic attitude and willpower. Besides, the people around her were often moved by her concern and courage.
       According to her teacher Chen Hui-Ping, Ma-Li’s behavior was impressive, and her optimistic attitude was heart-warming. Although she was suffered from such an accident, she still faced it with smile by adapting herself to psychological and physiological impacts within a short time.
       Despite of pains and difficulties, she persisted on learning how to use computer, play violin and clarinet. Her enterprising spirit moved the whole classmates and influenced everyone’s attitude. She often says:” the dream of life will be achieved once we make efforts.” Her faith is influencing the whole class of Lung-Tan Agricultural and Industrial Vocational High School, enabling them to actively make stride for the future.
      She often assists the others who are earnestly requiring for help. This helps to create an atmosphere of love and warming in Lung-Tan Vocational High School. From her, we understand the meaning of truth, empathy and beauty.
      From her articles, we can also feel her kind heart. In deed, if everybody in the world can work actively and seriously, it’s possible to reduce some disasters, and create a harmonious society with love.
