2010 Send Love to Guam
Send Love to Guam – Spread Love of Taiwan
Date: February 16-21, 2010
 
1. Felix P. Camacho (Governor of Guam) attached particular importance to Send Love to Guam Charity Events, and specially instructed Julie Torres(master of ceremony) to pick up Chou Chin-Hua and other members and to receive them with great courtesy.
2. On February 18 and at Fo Guang Shan Guam, "Rotate the World with Love from Taiwan – the press conference for the Fervent Global Love of Lives Award Ceremony for Dr. Chen Kuang-Ming (Schweitzer of Guam) was held. 
(1) Chou Ta-Kuan Children's Ensemble performed the Taiwan folk songs like "Green High Mountain", "Ode to the Republic of China" and "Taipei's Sky", in order to spread the love from Taiwan and the emotion from Taipei from via music.
(2) Pacific Daily News, Marianas Variety, Mariana Business Journal and TV Sorensen, KUAM Guam and other media expanded coverage, provoking tremendous response from all walks of life (see the Annex for media coverage).

(3) Tsai Wen-si (Director, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Guam), members of the Taiwan Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Services, Hsu Kai-yuan (President, Chinese Chamber of Commerce Guam), Huang Mei-Li (Vice President, Chinese School Foundation), George Chiu (President, Guam Overseas Chinese Union), members of the Confederation of Chinese Association in Guam, Wu Hong-Sheng (Commissioner, Overseas Affairs Committee), Wu Chia-Chi and Kao Tung-Yi (Consultants, Overseas Affairs Committee), Wang Pi-Te, Kao Wang-Lei, Hsiang Ssu-Chung, and Su-Hiang Mei-li (Overseas Affairs Consultants), Michael Randall (Chief Editor, Overseas Communication), Wu He-li (Manager, First Bank, Guam Branch), Wang Chung-hsin (Manager, China Airlines) and more than 500 guests home and abroad to attend the event, and accumulated the positive and kind-hearted strength by love. The participants recognized that overseas Chinese united in an unprecedented way, and gained the inspiration of emulating those better than themselves in search for the meaning and value of life.
(4) Dr. Chen Kuang-Ming, by means of complete video, shared his 40-year experience of serving as a jungle physician. He is well-known in Taiwan, the United States, Japan and the Philippines particularly after he eradicated ALS, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and other mysterious diseases in Guam. Two decades ago, he received the nomination of Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Large numbers of patients or families helped by Dr. Chen sent flowers to express their immense gratitude.
(5) Chen-Chou Hsiu-Chin (President, Confucius-Mencius Society of the ROC) recited the full text about praise of Dr. Chen Kuang-Ming passed by the US Congress and Legislature of Guam that "Gratitude and praise are extended to Dr. Chen Kuang-Ming for his ever-lasting spirit of devoting his life to the people of Guam with superb medical ethics and skills."  
3. On February 19, 10:00 - 12:00 am, Chou Chin-Hua (Founder of Chou Ta-Kuan Foundation), Guo Ying-Lan (President of Chou Ta-Kuan Foundation), Chou Tien-Guan (Head of the Chou Ta- Kuan Children's Ensemble), Wang Chia-lun (Supervisor, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Guam), and Dr. Chen Kuang-Ming held the "Spread out Love of Taiwan – Send Love to Guam Memorial Hospital Charity Events". They were received by Peter John Camacho (Superintendent, Guam Memorial Hospital) and Maria Perez (PR Director). Then, the Chou Ta-Kuan Children's Ensemble performed "Bāng Tshun-hong", "Green High Mountain", "Essence of Love", "Do You Feel the Love" and many other Taiwan and world folk songs, and donated the Chou Ta-Kuan commemorative stainless steel thermos. Furthermore, the Ensemble performed music and sent gifts in the patients who could not get up and walk in the wards of seriously ill children, and the wards of adults with cancer. This event was reported by KUAM TV, and moved indigenous people of Guam (Chamorro), Spanish, Japanese, South Koreans, overseas Chinese and other ethnic groups.
 
► Dr. Chen Kuang-Ming and Chou Chin-Hua sent love to the Guam Memorial Hospital, performed music and presented gifts.
4. On February 19, 14:30 - 15:00, accompanied by Wang Chia-lun, Chou Chin-Hua and other members exchanged with Joyce Crisostomo (President, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Guam) and Victor Camacho (CEO, brother of Governor Felix P. Camacho), signed an agreement to form sister organizations, and stepped up the efforts made by the two organizations in helping children with cancer to fulfill their dreams.
5. On February 19, 15:30 - 16:30, Chou Chin-Hua and other members attended the Guam Historical Relics Exhibition, and listened to the briefings of the Guam Museum which was delivered by Leon M. Young (Curator). On behalf of Governor Felix P. Camacho, M. Flores (President) said that when the New Guam Museum was completed, the winner of the Fervent Global Love of Lives Award, artist Chen Ching-Sheng, was sincerely invited to the opening exhibition in Guam in 2012. Chou Ta-Kuan would sponsor Chen Ching-Sheng's flying to Guam to attend the exchange exhibition. Besides, it donated the proceeds from charity sale of paintings to Guam Museum to increase the funds for collection. The paintings which were not sold and based on the stories of Taiwan indigenous people were donated to Guam Museum as collections.

6. On February 20, 14:00 - 15:00, Chou Chin-Hua and other members held the "Priceless Life, Love-filled world – Send Love to Guam Chinese School Charity Events". Hsu Kai-Yuen (President, United Chinese Association of Guam), Cheng Jui-Ying (President, Chinese Ladies' Association of Guam), Lai Sung-Hsiang (President, Guam Chinese School), overseas Chinese leaders, including Tan Mwi-Li, Kao Wang-Lei, Tu Li-Wan, Huang Mei-Li, Huang Chin-I, and all teachers and students of Guam Chinese School attended the charity events. Since Guam and Taipei City are sister cities, the life stories of the winner of Fervent Global Love of Lives Award, Lin Mu-Ching (One-legged Buddha) and Wang Shu-Chiao (One-armed Dancer) was specially played to share with everyone. Also, the "Movement of Life 11" was presented to each student as the teaching material of life education. Besides, the Chou Ta-Kuan Children's Ensemble also performed Taiwan folk songs to entertain teachers and students. In the meantime, two-way dialogs allowed teachers and students to share their ideas about this charity event. Also, the Chou Ta-Kuan's I Still Have One Leg (Chinese-English version) and Chou Ta -Kuan commemorative stainless steel thermos were also presented to enhance the recognition of teachers and students towards Taiwan.
